A Look Inside Dating App S’More

Posted on September 14, 2020

Smore logoTHINKNUM MEDIA – Sep 12 – S'More is calling itself "the first anti-superficial relationship app." When dating app executive Adam Cohen Aslatei left Bumble, he was jaded by the superficial nature of the online dating culture he helped create. That's why he launched S'More. According to the app's numbers, in the last six months the app has gained ~70K users with 3 times more daily active users since the beginning of the pandemic. On S'More, users swipe right or left on personality traits before selfies. Users can't see photos until both parties have engaged in conversation on the app. This appeals to women more than men. 59% of their users are women.

Do North Koreans Use Dating Apps?

Posted on September 10, 2020

Noth korean coupleNKNEWS – Sep 9 – Many North Koreans still meet through matchmakers, but even those wealthy enough to own cell phones don't use them to arrange dates or casual sex. Nort Koreans can't do "sexting," since any words related to sex are illegal, and sharing any kind of pornographic videos will land them in prison. North Korea is a very conservative society. Kissing, hugging and even holding hands in public is frowned upon as anti-socialist behavior. Young North Koreans usually get their parents to find them a matchmaker for marriage after they finish their military service.
