VANCOUVER SUN – Not impressed with the usual dating app experience, university students Laura Rollock and Connor Rose decided to build IRLY (I Really Like You), which makes face-to-face video dating a priority. Once users make a match, they are put into a two-minute video speed-dating. To date, the app has raised about a half-million dollars in funding and can count as investors Chris Kaufman, the co-founder of sneaker marketplace StockX, and Kevin Edwards, CEO of the Canadian food-delivery service SkipTheDishes.
