THE TIMES – Peers are advocating for stricter age restrictions on technology companies, citing a loophole that allows children to download dating and gambling apps from Apple's App Store. The "Anonymous Chat Room Dating App," advertised as "adult-only fans with strangers," is among the examples mentioned. The loopholes have been highlighted by Baroness Kidron, founder of the 5Rights child advocacy group, and Baroness Harding of Winscombe during the passage of the Online Safety Bill. Kidron and 5Rights have written to the Information Commissioner's Office and Harding wants amendments that would put greater age verification duties on Apple and Google.
