Cheaters Tend To Get Caught After Their Third Affair

Posted on July 2, 2018

Illicitencounters logo 2018METRO.CO.UK – June 30 – Illicit Encounters surveyed 1K adulterers and found that 63% had been caught out by their partners at some point in their marriage, with the majority getting caught after their third affair. 11% were caught during their first affair after tying the knot, 12% during the second, and 21% during their third. It's thought this is because on third affairs people tend to get more lax about covering their tracks. 39% of those surveyed were caught by a partner reading their phone messages, 22% by their partner reading emails, 20% thanks to lying about their whereabouts, 14% being spotted out with a lover, and 5% caught because a family friend ratted them out.

Ashley Madison Chief: No Publicity Is Bad Publicity

Posted on April 30, 2018

Ashleymadison ruben buellTELEGRAPH.CO.UK – Apr 30 – "After the events of 2015, we had to rethink who we were", says Ashley Madison chief Ruben Buell. "It included a realisation that "most of our clients are attached and want discretionary tools to date on the side, so that's what we've focused on". The breach barely made a dent. "We are now signing up 20K Britons a day and revenue growth in the US this year went up 17% and Canada 18%", Buell adds. The Canadian, who wears a ring on his finger, took up the role as president of Ruby Life in 2017 after serving as CTO, and now runs its three dating sites: Ashley Madison, Cougar Life and Established Men.

Why Ashley Madison Still Isn’t Dead

Posted on April 5, 2018

Ashleymadison app screenshotMASHABLE – Apr 3 – Ashley Madison now claims 191k daily active users. The company is also armed with an audit from accounting firm Ernst & Young, which verified 5,673,024 real accounts were registered in 2017 and that the ratio of active paid users male to female was 1 to 1.13. "~60% of our traffic is organic," said Ruben Buell, president and CTO of Ashley Madison's parent company Ruby Life. The company hired a new chief privacy officer and chief security officer who have been in charge of building a new cybersecurity framework. The site is introducing two-factor authentication in the coming months. The company has made more of an effort to cater to women, such as through marketing campaigns glorifying female users rather than male. The company currently has 153 employees in their offices in Toronto and Cyprus and plans to reach 173 by the end of the year.

Ashley Madison Threatens To Sue ‘Tinder For One Night Stands’ – CasualX

Posted on December 19, 2017

Lawsuit pic 2017METRO.CO.UK – Dec 14 – The infidelity app Ashley Madison has threatened to sue a rival sex app after accusing it of copying its trademarks. It has ordered a hook-up app called CasualX to immediately change its branding and slogan or face legal action. CasualX, which markets itself as 'the Tinder for casual sex', advertises its services with the words 'Life is boring. Desire a fling?' Ashley Madison feels this is too similar to its own slogan: 'Life is short. Have an affair.' It also called on CasualX to stop using a picture showing a masked woman pressing a finger to her lips, which is allegedly similar to an image used by Ashley Madison.

Ashley Madison Caught Exposing Cheaters’ Private Photos

Posted on December 7, 2017

Ashleymadison logo dec 2017FORBES – Dec 7 – Despite the catastrophic 2015 hack, people still use Ashley Madison to hook up with others looking for some extramarital action. For those who've stuck around, or joined after the breach, decent cybersecurity is a must. Except, according to independent researcher Matt Svensson and Bob Diachenko from cybersecurity firm Kromtech, the site has left private photos exposed to a large portion of customers. Another issue was that pictures are accessible to anyone who has the link, even those who aren't signed up to Ashley Madison. Ruby Life chief information security officer Matthew Maglieri said the company was happy to work with Svensson on the issues. "We can confirm that his findings were corrected and that we have no evidence that any user images were compromised and/or shared outside of the normal course of our member interaction," Maglieri said.
