NDTV – A survey by Indian dating app QuackQuack of ~10K users aged 22–35 found that 39% of singles above 28 from metro and suburban areas see marriage as optional rather than a life milestone. The findings reflect shifting attitudes toward love and commitment, with many prioritizing personal growth and emotional connection over traditional timelines. The study also found that 6 in 10 daters view being single as a period for self-development, and 23% said prolonged use of dating apps has made them more self-aware through exposure to different perspectives.

Study Finds Men Report More Dates Than Women Despite Fewer Matches

Posted on October 9, 2025

NEWSWEEK – A new study found that men report going on 48% more dates than women, even though many men complain about getting few matches on apps. Researchers suggest the gap may be because men and women define “a date” differently. Overall, people are dating less, with half of singles saying they are not investing much effort and over half spending nothing on dating in the past year. Those who did spend averaged just over $400, with men outspending women. Experts say financial pressures, stress, and dating fatigue are major reasons behind the decline.

New Study Shows Why Men Need to Lower Their Standards on Dating Apps

Posted on September 8, 2025

FORBES – Men face tougher odds on dating apps because there are more men than women using them (34% vs 27% in the U.S.). On Tinder, men have a match rate of only 0.6%, while women’s is around 10%. Men often aim for women considered more attractive than themselves, leading to more competition and rejection, while women tend to choose partners closer to their own level. This imbalance means a small number of women get most of the attention, while many men get little. In practice, matches usually happen between people of similar attractiveness, not between men chasing out of their league.

Many believe their best career move is still ahead, and most describe themselves as mentally younger—often by a decade or two. Sex lives are more fulfilling, age matters less in choosing a partner, and maturity is widely seen as attractive. The findings feed into DateMyAge’s upcoming LoveMyAge campaign, which spotlights life after 50 as vibrant, adventurous, and some of the best years yet.
