Fitafy: “Couples Who Sweat Together, Stay Together”

Posted on February 17, 2022

Fitafy iconOPTUS SPORT – Fitafy is a new niche dating app designed for fitness like-minded singles. The app allows users to select their potential matches by filtering their lifestyle, diet and workout habits. Fitafy is the brainchild of two mates from Perth, Stephen Mansfield and Cem Miral, who ironically met at their local gym. The pair combined their marketing and computer science backgrounds to create an app for singles seeking like-minded, healthy and active people to share their lives or just a workout. "We've found that people are not just after finding a relationship, but also training partners as well," says Cem Miral. The app recently launched in the UK and is preparing to take on the US.

Mark Brooks: This is almost the niche that isn't. Most singles are interested in being fit these days, and are interested in dating someone who is interested in being fit, and hot. 🙂

Dating App Fitafy Matches Health-Conscious Singles

Posted on January 26, 2022

Fitafy iconBIGTIMEDAILY – Today, there is no shortage of dating apps or relationship sites. But most of them ignore the element of health and fitness. Fitafy is a new dating app for health-conscious people who want to share common interests and lifestyles. With the Fitafy app, users can meet new friends, find a match and share their fitness goals with them. Though the app prioritizes the elements of health and fitness, it doesn't discriminate against anyone who may or may not be in their optimum health. Right now, the app is live in the UK and Australia. However, users can get access to the site from ~170 countries.

Fitafy Is Like Tinder for Fitness Fanatics

Posted on October 7, 2021

Fitafy iconAUSTRALIAN FINANCIAL REVIEW – Fitafy founders Stephen Mansfield and Cem Miral say they want to change the online dating game and place health and wellbeing at its core. They came up with the idea during a post-workout coffee. "The topic came up about why there isn't a dating app like Tinder, but for fit people," says Mansfield. "So we did the research to see if there was anything like it on the market and there was nothing." The company now has five shareholders including the founders, employs seven people, and has raised $2.5M in seed funding, with plans to close a Series A funding round in mid-2022. The app has been rolled out across Australia and Britain, with other countries to follow. Fitafy is free, although subscriptions starting at $39 a month unlock additional features. The app also syncs with fitness-tracking apps including Strava, Fitbit and Apple Watch, so that others can see each other's fitness progress.

Dating App Fitafy Matches Health-conscious Singles Based on Lifestyle Interests

Posted on September 29, 2021

Fitafy iconTHE WEST – At their local gym, former WAFL player and entrepreneur Stephen Mansfield and tech professional Cem Miral had heard enough from mates lamenting their low-intensity love lives. They made a pledge to create an app for health-conscious singles to "find their fit". The Perth pair launched matchmaking app Fitafy last year. It is expected to hit 30M swipes. Users answer questions relating to their lifestyle, diet and fitness habits when building their profile, and can then match others with similar interests.
