Q&A with Noel Biderman, CEO of Avid Life Media
Q: When do you notice an uptick in traffic?
A: The days after Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day.
A: Not surprised at all. The concept of relationships outside of the marriage has been around a long time, it is as old as marriage itself.
A: In today’s day and age, it’s very difficult to be married and faithful.

Q: Why married people turn to a site like this?
A: The opportunity to cheat is the best with people you know. These are also the most dangerous because it's only a matter of time before your partner finds out. Sites like NoStringsAttached are safer.
MarriedSecrets.com

Members: “In the hundreds of thousands"
Q&A With Jason Baker, spokesperson.

Is ‘Sugar Daddying’ Prostitution, or Just Extreme Gifting?
FOX NEWS – June 23 – Sugardaddy.com is a dating site that connects “sugar daddies” with “sugar babies” or “sugar mommas.” The site has a disclaimer that prohibits members from offering money in exchange for sex, saying any such violations will result in the cancellation of membership and banning from the site. “Prostitution is about sex for money … and women who rely on these interactions to support themselves – this is their profession,” says Noel Biderman, CEO of Avid Life Media who runs a similar Sugar Daddy dating site called EstablishedMen.com. “Sugar daddy relationships are real women who are interested in being with men who are willing to spend their disposable income on the lifestyle."

Love In The Location-Aware World
FOX NEWS – Feb 13 – The fastest growing trend in social networking is location-based iPhone and Android apps, which tell the online world exactly which restaurant you're eating at or driveway you're parked in. Apps like FourSquare and Gowalla profess to better connect us with our friends. But more and more apps use them to let people hook up. "Mobile dating is different," explained Andrew Weinreich, founder of a mobile-dating app MeetMoi. "You’re literally dating as you go. You have less time to be discriminating and can easily meet up with someone nearby.” Juniper Research predicts that by next year, over a quarter of a billion people will be using mobile services to date. Weinreich agrees, saying romance simply has to keep up with our fast-paced society. FULL ARTICLE @ FOX NEWS
Ashley Madison Reveals Human Nature
FOX NEWS – Nov 1 – Researchers scanned ads from 200 men and 200 women chosen at random from Ashley Madison, a discreet dating service. The researchers investigated what the cheaters said they wanted in an adulterous relationship: "anything goes," "short term," "undecided," "long term," "cyber affair/erotic chat," or "whatever excites me." The men ~42 years old, advertised "anything goes" more than twice as often as women, while the women ~39, sought long-term relationships about two-thirds more than men. Women who were in relationships used significantly more adjectives describing the physical attributes they sought in partners and significantly fewer ones describing their material qualities than single women did. Hannity Debates Founder Of AshleyMadison.com
FOX NEWS – May 13 - Unlike Match.com or Eharmony.com or Hannidate on Hannity.com, AshleyMadison.com isn't just another dating Web site for singles. It is a dating Web site for married people. Now not only do they actually encourage cheating on your spouse, the company proudly acts as the vehicle to help make that happen. Here is the interview with founder and CEO of AshleyMadison.com Noel Biderman.
Q: You think it's good for people to have affairs?
A: I think if they are totally unhappy with their relationship and that is the avenue they need to pursue to preserve their marriage, absolutely. That's what they should do.
Q: Why would you not have a conscience bother you that this might hurt people's marriages?
A: I'm at the cutting-edge of what society needs. It's important to create a platform for these people because having them utilize a single dating site and meet an unsuspecting single, that's inappropriate. Having an affair in the workplace and risk you losing your job, that's inappropriate. What is so wrong with people having a social network of their own?
Q: You're rationalizing your contribution to the potential break up of marriages which will not only affect the two people involved, but also the children. Do you want to look the young kids in the eye when his parents get a divorce?
A: It's the same argument you can make and say, "Oh, divorce attorneys are profiting from divorce, and we should get rid of divorce attorneys."

Singles Turning To Chicago’s ‘Millionaire Matchmaker’
FOX NEWS CHICAGO – Apr 15 – Nicole Paul doesn't officially call herself a "millionaire matchmaker" but other people have no problem calling her that. Paul's events cost singles anywhere between $35 and $100, and they need to get a referral (by a current customer) to get in. She's picky and exclusive, but the group of singles who have joined Mint Experience, her matchmaking service, also have high standards, Paul said. And at the end of the evening, attendees who are still too shy or unsure about asking anyone for a date, or even a phone number, can try instead to pursue the object of their desires by signing up for a future Mint Experience dinner party.

ManCrunch.com Denies Accusations Super Bowl Ad Was Just PR Stunt
FOX NEWS – Feb 4 - Last week gay dating site ManCrunch.com cried foul when CBS rejected their ad submission for this year’s Super Bowl, claiming that the creative did not meet “broadcasting standards” and that the sales department had difficulties in verifying the previously unknown site’s “credit status.” This sparked speculation that the whole commercial, which the site said cost $100,000 to make, was a PR stunt, and that ManCrunch never had the $2.5M to pay for the spot. The site is actually owned by Avid Life Media, which reportedly makes ~$30M a year in revenue.

Actress Ashley Madison Myrick Sues Ashley Madison
FOX NEWS – Dec 15 – Actress Ashley Madison Myrick, has filed a lawsuit against online dating site Ashley Madison for the “humiliation’ she has endured over having the same name as the site that promotes infidelity. She wants the site to change their name and claims that the Web site AshleyMadisonbio.com is connected to the infidelity site and features her photo without permission. But Pop Tarts has exclusively obtained a $1M counter-suit filed by Ashley Madison (the Web site) against Ashley Madison (the actress). According to their suit, they don’t even own the domain AshleyMadsionbio.com and have had the infamous “Ashley Madison” name trademarked since 2002 whereas Myrick only adopted the moniker as a “stage name” in 2005. The affair matchmakers are now suing the actress for using their trademark to “inappropriately garner goodwill” to support her acting career.
