Brandon Wade, A Never-Been-Kissed Nerd, Built A ‘Sugar Baby’ Empire

Posted on March 29, 2014

Seeking arrangement brandon wade plus wifeBUSINESS INSIDER – Mar 27 – Brandon Wade has built SeekingArrangement.com, a dating site for "generous" men who are OK with paying for dates, and the women who are happy to accept the money. He's also a master of PR and word-of-mouth marketing. Last September Wade started Carrot Dating, a mobile app that requires men to offer bribes to women for dates. "In the very beginning I was a very lonely, shy and socially inept child", said Wade. "My mother told me to study very hard so I would be successful and rich which would make dating easier."

Anonymous Calling For The Internet Dating Industry – What Exactly Is Going On?

Posted on June 3, 2013

Anonymous callingOPW – May 28 – Anonymous calling and chat service provider offerings in the internet dating space have been a bit of mystery. PrivateCall by Phone Matrix made a strong case for anonymous calling but then faded. Jangl got off to a strong start, and then got folded into JaJah. JaJah successfully partnered with eHarmony, FriendFinder and Match. Then Match partnered instead with Twilio. ICallU is now on the scene and working with Seeking Arrangement and SugarDaddyForMe.

Dating sites' needs appear to have remained the same – their users want to communicate with one another without immediately divulging their personal information. What are telephony providers doing wrong? Could it be that the increasingly prevalence of messaging apps like WhatsApp and TextNow, combined with online daters' collective comfort with contemporary lines of communication, is diminishing the need for text- and voice-based telephony services? Let's discuss. Please comment if you have knowledge and an opinion.

(btw, Spikko are our new client, and have a solid offering on a proven platform for anonymous/private calling).

1 In 10 Online Dating Profiles Is Fake

Posted on May 10, 2013

Fake profilesNY DAILY NEWS – May 9 – A study of bogus online dating profiles reveals that most fraudsters claim to be religious and widowed. Many are also foreign, but describe themselves as Native American, mistakenly thinking it means only that they're from America. The FBI says ~$50M is stolen every year in romance scams. One in ten profiles is fake, according to research from SeekingArrangement.com, which deletes ~200 fraudulent accounts every day. CEO Brandon Wade says: “Scammers want you to trust them, and they want sympathy.” The bogus accounts are more likely to belong to a woman (71%) than a man (29%). Many fake profiles are listed in Nigeria, the Ukraine and the Philippines.

Posted on March 19, 2013

Seekingarrangement logoSCOTSMAN – Mar 19 – Members of the University and College Union (UCU) will this week use their annual congress to call for a joint campaign to end what they call sexual exploitation by websites which connect female students with “benefactors”. SeekingArrangement claimed to be growing in popularity in Scotland, adding Edinburgh University to its “top 20 fastest growing sugar baby schools” in the UK. College ‘Sugar Babies’ Date For Cash

Posted on February 26, 2013

Sugardaddie logoCNN – Feb 26 - SeekingArrangement.com reports that female college students made up 44% of the site's total users in 2012. With tuition on the rise, that number will likely continue to climb. Men who engage in such relationships, many of whom are older and married, enjoy taking care of young women and assuming a mentor role in their lives, said Steven Pasternack, who launched Sugardaddie.com in 2002. The average monthly "allowance" sugar daddies on the site said they shell out is $3K, according to SeekingArrangement.com. Surprisingly, sex isn't a given. It's obviously on the table but there are other motivations – to go out to eat or to have someone to talk to. SeekingArrangement.com's Wade said the men who subscribe to his site are discouraged from offering money on a per-date basis to avoid operating like an escort service.
