WIRED – Browser Dating is a new experimental app that matches users based on their browser history. Users upload their last 5K searches, which are analyzed by AI to create personality profiles. The idea is to reveal who people really are, beyond curated profiles. It's a one-time €9 payment for unlimited matches, but early concerns include privacy risks, lack of photo uploads, and clunky user experience. The app has fewer than 1K users so far.

Harvard: the Top Use of AI Is Now ‘Therapy & Companionship’
MARK BROOKS – At the Global Love Conference last month I made the outrageous prediction that by 2030 your best friend will be an AI. Why? Because you will be able to gift AI and enable it with deep access into the nuances of your life and behaviors, and it will eventually get to know you more deeply than anyone on the planet. It will also be smarter than anyone on the planet. Therefore, it is only logical to infer that it will give you the best, most informed advice, and if given permission, it will become a superior friend to you. Freaky, yes, I know.
Harvard Business Review ran this article showing their assessment of how people are using Gen AI. “Therapy/Companionship” has now moved to the top spot. Our world is being transformed. The dating industry more so.

{This analysis was brought to us by Marc Zao-Sanders, creator of Timeboxing.}

J.D. Vance Criticizes Dating Apps as “Destructive,” Citing Impact on Family Formation

PEOPLE – In a May 21 interview with The New York Times, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance criticized dating apps, calling them “destructive” for making it harder for young people to form relationships, get married, and start families. He expressed concern about AI’s role in increasing social isolation and warned that teens may begin forming unhealthy emotional bonds with chatbots. Vance, a vocal supporter of pronatalism, raised these concerns during a recent conversation with Pope Leo XIV, linking modern technology to declining family formation in the U.S.
