Jewzz logoSOUTH FLORIDA SUN SENTINEL – Andy Rudnick, founder of the Matzoball Jewish singles events, launched JEWZZ in April to connect Jewish singles and has already attracted 15K users. The app features live speed dating, video calls, and basic matchmaking tools, with premium options for advanced features. Rudnick personally screens new applicants to ensure a safe environment. Rudnick, who has been operating the famed Matzoball Jewish singles gatherings since 1987, says he screens for inappropriate language, photos, and conversations. He said he rejects ~10% of potential new members.

Every swipe shapes the app's recommendations, offering a chance to challenge mainstream beauty norms. To make dating apps inclusive, users and developers must push for changes that prioritize racial equity and fairness in matchmaking.

Dating App flutrr Unveils AI Chatbot to Simplify Conversations for Users

Flutrr logoINC42 – Kolkata-based vernacular dating app flutrr has introduced a conversational AI chat feature to assist users in initiating or sustaining conversations. In September, the app launched flutrr Tunes, allowing users to create AI-generated songs to impress someone special. The founders report over 500K monthly active users (MAU). In October, flutrr announced plans to raise $450K, following a $480K funding round last year.

Bindr Wins $75K at UpPrize

Bindr logoLINKEDIN – Bindr, the bisexual dating app launched in Aug 2022, won $75K at the UpPrize: Social Innovation Challenge. The app, co-founded by Mary Richardson to improve queer representation in dating platforms, broke its 100K-user milestone earlier this year. The company aims to reach 1M users by next summer. In 2023, Richardson received the Women in Technology award from the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania and was nominated for Forbes 30 Under 30. This funding will support Bindr's growth and ongoing efforts to serve the underrepresented LGBTQ+ community.
