BBC NEWS — July 4 — The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop) will run a series of workshops in UK for parents, children and teachers. Ceop said it was concerned that children were posting personal details and said one in 12 children met up with someone encountered first online. 54% of Bebo UK users are under 18, 31% of MySpace UK users are under 18. That’s a good thing to do cause nowadays more and more teens face violence or abuse online.
There was a survey at http://www.family.org (this is not an ad, just a research) within american teens, that showed that about 50% of them have had “unhealthy relationships” and are skeptical about dating and love. And this is frightening.
In the note I found the teachers offered to include such subject into curriculum and in some schols it’s already taught within 9th grades. The motto is “Love Is Not Abuse.”
There are sites online that require parentrs’ agreement before allowing a 12-year-old child to register at a dating or community site. Most dating sites do not allow to register users younger then 18. But there always ways to deceive a system. We should work on it, I’m sure.
