OPW — Sep 4 — How badly did we screw up with this new design for OPW? Or did we get
it right? We tried to make the site easier to read and focus on what
counts, the posts. Your comments please.
I’m liking it but why did you lose the new commenting system you had in place?
The design is a lot better, looks much cleaner and more in keeping with where OPW could be going.
I’d like to see a few more community tools on here – maybe commenting, maybe MyBlogLog.com, Seesmic.com or similar functionality.
Techcrunch had a great redesign recently – would be good to see elements of that as well.

I had four concerns with the Intense Debate commenting system that we tried out for 48 hours.
1. The pages would load the old commenting system and then the Intense Debate system would load on top of it, kinda messy and amateur looking
2. I had commenters who were somehow able to continue commenting on the old system on the new posts which were supposed to be 100% Intense Debate. I ran a browser compatibility test and discovered a few instances of incompatibility on mainstream browsers.
3. I had a hunch that the pages might not reference as well for SEO.
4. Intense Debate didn’t return my email asking for support.
We’ll try out MyBlogLog and check out Seesmic.
