Tastemates Helps Users Find People Who Like What They Like

Posted on May 7, 2016

Tastemates screenshotTECH CRUNCH – May 2 – On Tastemates, users are asked to swipe to indicate whether they liked a given movie, TV show or music. Then, as the app gets a better sense of what users like, it will recommend other things they might like. And it will bring up the activity of users with similar tastes, so they can connect. Tastemates is currently available for Android and the team behind the app is also working on an iPhone app.

Quick Review Of Top Dating Sites

Posted on May 6, 2016

Online-dating-results-chartREVIEWS.COM – May 4 – Reviews.com have reviewed top dating sites. They excluded niche dating sites, hook up sites, dating apps and sites that don't operate internationally. The top dating site is OkCupid according to their study. Match.com was rated top site for long-term relationship, PlentyOfFish was the most overwhelming and eHarmony the most underwhelming. They looked at how easy it was to create a great profile, how accurate the algorithms were, the amount of bad messages users get and the usability. eHarmony has a reputation for being old-fashioned and marriage-oriented, and it likes it that way. Industry expert Mark Brooks considers it one of his favorites. "They are a high-integrity outfit that are devoted to helping people make long-term matches," he says. "That's the ultimate goal really: great relationships that people feel inclined to stay in. A lot of men bail when they have to answer a lot of questions up front," Brooks says. Reviews.com experience on eHarmony was mostly negative. They found the matching algorithm ineffective.

Why Some People End Up With Partners Who Are More Attractive

Posted on May 5, 2016

Keyboard2WASHINGTON POST – May 3 – In general, couples tend to be more similar than two randomly selected people. Scientists call this "assortative mating". In a study published last year in the journal Psychological Science, researchers offered an explanation for when and where couples of mixed attractiveness are most likely to arise. The study found that heterosexual couples who were friends before they dated were more likely to be rated at different attractiveness levels. Those who met each other and started dating within a month had relatively similar levels of attractiveness.
