VIRTUAL REALITY TIMES – The Nevermet platform was developed by Solaris Nite and Cam Mullen. The two have also worked on other social VR apps such as Cheerio, Somewhere, and Couch. Nevermet is a dating app where users can search and hook up on dates with Virtual Boyfriends (VBFs) or Virtual Girlfriends (VGFs). Users will only be interacting with avatars rather than real faces. No personal photos are allowed on the platform and the profiles are controlled by a moderator.

David Siegel – What Is Metaverse?
OPW – Before it was finally called Metaverse, in 2010, David Siegel wrote a book about it. David consults on digital acceleration and the semantic web, especially Metaverse. David defines Metaverse as the real-time location-aware web. He describes the connected worlds in Metaverse, like the power strip in Wreck-It-Ralph, where the characters from one game could enter several other games. David also noted that Metaverse gives new forms of collaboration for companies, digital assistants, and open markets.

Fitafy: “Couples Who Sweat Together, Stay Together”
OPTUS SPORT – Fitafy is a new niche dating app designed for fitness like-minded singles. The app allows users to select their potential matches by filtering their lifestyle, diet and workout habits. Fitafy is the brainchild of two mates from Perth, Stephen Mansfield and Cem Miral, who ironically met at their local gym. The pair combined their marketing and computer science backgrounds to create an app for singles seeking like-minded, healthy and active people to share their lives or just a workout. "We've found that people are not just after finding a relationship, but also training partners as well," says Cem Miral. The app recently launched in the UK and is preparing to take on the US.

Mark Brooks: This is almost the niche that isn't. Most singles are interested in being fit these days, and are interested in dating someone who is interested in being fit, and hot. 🙂
