BLK Launches Animated ‘Halloween Horror Stories’
CASSIUS – BLK, a dating and lifestyle app attuned to the Black community, has launched a new content series called Halloween Horror Stories: Dating Edition. The series consists of three animated shorts that chronicle the dating terrors of Black singles. BUSINESS STANDARD – Flutrr, India's inaugural multilingual dating app, has secured a funding of INR 4 Cr ($480K) in a round led by The Chennai Angels, with participants including The Times of India and other individual investors. Targeting the 500M non-English fluent youth in India, Flutrr offers its services in 16 local languages. The funds will be used to grow its user base to 5M and aim for a monthly revenue of Rs. 100 lakhs ($120K).

Bumble CEO: “Hacks I Used to Grow My App”
CNBC – Bumble launched in Dec 2014 with $10M in funding from Badoo co-founder Andrey Andreev. Most of that money seemingly didn't go toward marketing – instead, when Wolfe Herd noticed signs outside local college lecture halls banning social media platforms in class, she hung additional signs, adding Bumble to the list. Another tactic involved spending $20 on cookies decorated with the Bumble logo and distributing them to college sororities. She also gave away branded gifts like balloons and underwear to sorority girls and pizzas with Bumble stickers to fraternities.
