Dating.com Reveals the Election Is Disrupting Dating Lives

PR NEWSWIRE – A new study by Dating.com reveals that the upcoming presidential election is heavily influencing dating conversations and decisions among American singles. Grindr Should Face Suit Over Death of Child App User, Judge Says
BLOOMBERG LAW – A magistrate judge recommended that most of the wrongful death and negligence claims against Grindr proceed in a case involving a minor, "A.V.," who died by suicide after using the LGBTQ+ dating app. The child's family alleges that Grindr's app features, which connect users based on physical type and location, contributed to A.V.'s emotional distress and death. Grindr argued for dismissal under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which shields platforms from liability for user content. However, the judge found that Grindr's liability might stem from its own app features, not user-generated content, allowing the case to move forward.
Brandon Wade and Dana Rosewall – Fireside Chat
LTR – Brandon Wade, an MIT graduate and former executive at GE and Microsoft, started Seeking in 2006 and later founded What’s Your Price and Miss Travel. He co-leads these ventures with his wife, Dana Rosewall, who brings a fresh perspective to the dating industry. They met on Seeking.com, which Brandon created to overcome his dating challenges. After rebranding Seeking to move away from the controversial “sugar dating” term, they now focus on “modern hypergamy,” promoting mutual socioeconomic uplift in relationships. Their goal is to reduce online dating fatigue by fostering genuine connections and enhancing user experience, especially for women.

Better in Person Dating App Launches Bold Campaign to Curb Dishonest Behavior
ADAGE – The new dating app, Better in Person, launched with a bold campaign targeting dishonest behavior in online dating, specifically taking aim at "f**boys." The app's campaign, titled "Report Every F**boy You Know," features billboards and other outdoor advertisements in LA, New York, and coastal areas, encouraging users to report deceitful daters. Additionally, the app includes features like a mandatory profile video to prevent catfishing and tracks user behavior to maintain accountability.
Score, the Dating App for People With Good to Excellent Credit, Quietly Shuts Down
TECH CRUNCH – Score, the dating app for people with good to excellent credit, shut down in early August. Score was supposed to be a pop-up app that lasted 90 days, back in February. However, it received so much user interest that the parent company, Neon Money Club, decided to keep it open for six months. In that time, it attracted 18K users and made 8K matches. According to co-founder Luke Bailey, the app highlighted economic gender disparities, noting millennial men had an 11% higher average credit score than women due to educational costs.
Muslim Dating App ‘Muzz’ Brings Laughter to Houston With Comical Billboards
CLICK2HOUSTON – The UK-based Muslim dating app, Muzz, has expanded its reach to Houston, capturing attention with witty billboards like "200,000 Muslims in Houston … and ya'll are still single?" Muzz, launched in 2015, has become a leading Muslim marriage app with ~10M users. Julia Cardenas, a Houston local and Muzz's marketing specialist, helped tailor the campaign to resonate with the city's culture. Study Finds Most Men Favor Career-Focused Partners Over Traditional Gender Roles
TORONTO SUN – A study by the dating app Flirtini reveals that most men today prefer partners who prioritize their careers over traditional gender roles. The survey of 2K men from Gen X, Gen Z, and Millennials shows that ~75% are open to dating women who focus on their careers rather than starting a family. Additionally, 96% are comfortable with partners who earn more than they do, and 63% support a 50/50 financial split in relationships. Only 10% of men care if their partner cooks, and over 68% are open to child-free relationships. This trend highlights a shift towards valuing career-focused women and equal partnerships over traditional "tradwife" roles. Relationship experts suggest that both men and women today prioritize personal freedom, equal partnerships, and professional ambitions over old-fashioned family structures.
