
INDEPENDENT – Google is facing a UK class action seeking £1B for ~20M consumers and businesses. The claim alleges that Google’s Play Store commission of up to 30% pushed up the price of apps, subscriptions and in-app purchases, including dating services. It covers purchases made between October 2015 and July 2026. Google denies the allegations and says Android offers users greater choice and some of the lowest fees in the market.
