Pure-app-iphoneBUSINESS INSIDER – Aug 24 – Pure is a new app that connects people who are ready to get laid right now. Pure will be a paid app. The app's business model incorporates an in-app purchase system that charges users $9.99 for a 24-hour pass. Pure App Aims To Spice Up Users’ Sex Life

Posted on August 23, 2013

Pure-640x359MASHABLE – Aug 23 – Pure is a no-strings-attached iOS service resembling Craigslist's casual encounter channel; a hook-up tool that lets users browse who's around and what they want. Although it may be too racy to make it into the App Store, its founders say the app bans nudity and adheres to the iOS terms of service.

The Rise Of Minimalist Sex Apps

Posted on August 19, 2013

19-pure-appNYMAG – Aug 19 – "We wanted an easy way to find sex," says Pure's co-founder Sidorenko. "We thought it would be cool to use an approach like Uber, where you create the request, and you get a car pretty soon. We thought it would be cool to have something like that to find a sex buddy." From that brainstorm came Pure, a new app that brings the on-demand convenience of Uber to the bedroom. They hope to be part of a cultural change surrounding online sex-discovery. They've enlisted female sexologist Carol Queen to help them reach women, and they're planning a series of marketing events at New York bars in the coming weeks.

Risky Business: An Interview With Noel Biderman, Ashley Madison

Posted on August 6, 2013

Noel Biderman interviewedSHALOM LIFE – Aug 5 – Ashley Madison claims 20M members in 26 countries, $90M in revenue in 2012, and a new member every nine seconds.

Q: A lot of people peg you as the 'King of Infidelity', but you didn’t always bear this moniker. How did your career trajectory change so drastically?
A: I’m incredibly competitive and argumentative. My temperament helped me see gaps in product development and business consumption. Even though I was in the career of my dreams (athletics), there was a siren out there calling me to fill that market void.

Q: How do you brainstorm ideas for advertisements that society is still finding hard to stomach?
A: Sometimes society has its head in the sand. It truly doesn’t want to believe that people behave atypically. We want people to know that other people think and feel like the same way; that there’s a community to join for comfort.

Q: Which of the dating communities that Avid Life represents is gaining the most traction and traffic. Why?
A: Ashley Madison. Building site that caters to extracurricular relationships is more universally feasible. Because of this, Ashley Madison will always be the largest.

Q: When countering your critics you often object with, "We're just a platform. No website or 30-second ad is going to convince anyone to cheat." Can you elaborate?
A: The notion of monogamy goes against our DNA.  Is it any wonder people look to find comfort in the arms of another?

Q: Coming from a Jewish pedigree, does Ashley Madison target the Jewish community?
A: We target women. Socioeconomics, ethnicity, and age doesn’t come into play when narrowing our demographic.

Q: What would people be surprised to know about you?
A: I think people are surprised to know I’m an avid fisherman and a family guy.

Q: Where do you see the future for Ashley Madison and Avid Life within the next 5 years?
A: The goal is to be the best you can be. Ultimately, we strive to be the biggest dating website on the planet.

AshleyMadison Comes To Japan

Posted on July 1, 2013

Ashleymadison japanWSJ/TOKYO REPORTER – July 1 – With more than 19 million anonymous members worldwide, the infidelity
service on Monday launched its operation in Japan. Until 2010, AshleyMadison only operated in North America. Japan is AM's 28th
country, first in Asia. In the first four days, The website had logged
230,000 visits and 70,000 members. The company
had targeted 100,000 members in the first month, and 1.2 million in the
first year. Male users pay 4,900 yen for 100 credits — the currency
used to interact
with women, who do not pay. To engage in an email conversation with a
female user requires five credits. For chatting, the fee is based on the
elapsed time, much like a taxi meter. Virtual gifts with a message can
also be sent. Interaction across international borders is possible.
