IllicitEncounters.com Seeks Agency

Posted on April 27, 2010

Illicit encounters logo PR WEB – Apr 27 - IllicitEncounters.com, the UK extra-marital dating
site, is looking for an agency for creative and media buying. As CEO
Adam Scott explains, the site finds it difficult to secure commercial
spots in mainstream media; "Today, our brand is more widely accepted
than ever, but we're looking to go further. As long as the execution is
delicate and the message is consistent, we think television advertising
in particular could be a hugely beneficial avenue for us", Scott
explains. FULL ARTICLE @ PR WEB

AshleyMadison.com Getting More Canadian Hits

Posted on April 26, 2010

Ashleymadison logo new apr 2010 VANCOUVER SUN – Apr 23 – Across Canada, membership of AshleyMadison.com, the adulterous dating site, has grown 79% year over year, but the number of newlywed female members tripled, surging by 291%. As for the rise in female newlyweds looking for a tryst, CEO Noel Biderman says infidelity is born of opportunity, and as women have accumulated more education, landed better jobs and achieved more financial independence, their ability and tendency to stray has increased.

Straight People, Gay Sex

Posted on April 15, 2010

Ashleymadison logo new apr 2010 XTRA! – Apr 14 - Attached straight men and women looking for gay encounters are now very common, says Noel Biderman, founder of Ashley Madison, a hookup site designed for married folks looking to have affairs. Currently, AM boasts 200,000 attached users looking for casual same-sex hookups across Canada and the US. Biderman says AM offers discretion, something few other hookup websites provide. “The big thing between AM and other sites is your profile is honest." When people go to more traditional online dating, they usually have to lie about their relationship status, says Eric Resnick, online dating expert and coeditor of Online Personals Watch.

Ashley Madison Launches In Australia

Posted on April 12, 2010

Ashleymadison logo new apr 2010 SYDNEY MORNING HERALD – Apr 12 - Weeks into a "soft opening", with no publicity or advertising, Australian women have adopted the Ashley Madison agency motto – "life is short, have an affair" – with an enthusiasm founder Noel Biderman says he's not seen before. "We've never had more women than men, it's always been about two to one, male to female," Biderman said. Biderman said 40,000 Australians so far had joined the agency, which he started in Canada in 2001, fusing the two most popular children's names at the time to come up with AshleyMadison.com. FULL ARTICLE @ SYDNEY MORNING HERALD

Blackbox Republic Founders No Longer With The Company

Posted on April 9, 2010

Blackbox republic logo THE OREGONIAN – Apr 8 - Founders Sam Lawrence and April Donato announced their plans last summer and Blackbox went live in December. Their ambitious goal: Create an online meeting place for an adult crowd to chat about topics they didn't want to air on Facebook or Twitter. While focusing on social media, BBR also cast itself as an alternative to traditional online dating sites and sought to charge members between $9 and $25 a month. Sam and April left BBR in February after a dispute with his unnamed investors over the direction of the company. Female Newlyweds Flock To Join Cheaters Club

Posted on April 9, 2010

Ashleymadison logo new apr 2010 THE STAR – Apr 8 – According to Ashley Madison statistics, the number
of Toronto-area female newlyweds on their site has skyrocketed in the
past year. In March 2009, there were 3,184 women who had been married
for three years or less actively using the service. A year later, there
were 12,442. “There’s an overall increase in female infidelity in
general,” says Ruth Houston, a New York-based infidelity
expert. Houston is convinced that infidelity by women has increased by
50% in the last 10 years. But the U.S. National Opinion Research Center
report on American Sexual Behaviour offers much smaller figures: In
2004, 20.5% of men and 11.7 % of women admitted to cheating on their
spouses, a change from 21.3 and 10% in 1991. Ashley Madison membership
is growing madly. All of Canada, U.S., U.K. and Australia – 5,410,347
members (up from 2,802,664 a year ago), 3,898,468 male, 1,511,879
female. FULL ARTICLE @ THE STAR

Adultery Has Roots In Psychology

Posted on April 2, 2010

Helen fisher new THE DAILY TARGUM – Apr 1 - Helen Fisher, a visiting research professor in
the Department of Anthropology, has found biological and psychological
reasons as to why people have a propensity to cheat. There are numerous
psychological reasons for adultery. Some people may want to supplement
a marriage, solve a sex problem, garner more attention, seek revenge or
have more excitement in the marriage. But based on Fisher’s research,
there also is a biological side to adultery. “We have two brain
systems: One of them is linked to attachment and romantic love, and
then there is the other brain system, which is purely sex
drive.” Sometimes these two brain systems are not well connected, which
enables people to become adulterers and satisfy their sex drive without
any regards to their attachment side. FULL ARTICLE @ THE DAILY TARGUM

Online Cheating Is A Booming Business

Posted on March 26, 2010

Affairsclub logo SYDNEY MORNING HERALD – Mar 26 – 'LIFE is short. Have an affair!'' That is the line Noel Biderman uses to spruik his dating service, ashleymadison.com, which he claims has more than 5M philandering members, including 10,000 in Australia. An internet search throws up countless websites for cheating spouses, including meet2cheat.com.au, affairsclub.com, lonelyhousewives.com, philanderers.com and benaughty.com. ''I'm often asked if all these sites are causing more affairs,'' said the VP of Relationships Australia NSW, Anne Hollonds. ''To some extent it's easier, you can just sit at a computer. But these tend to be people who are wanting to escape their circumstances and derive the benefits from having a liaison with someone else. There have always been people who wanted to do that but they found other ways of doing it.'' FULL ARTICLE @ SYDNEY MORNING HERALD

Cheating In Relationships Becoming New Norm

Posted on March 8, 2010

Cheating_spouse THE PITTSBURGH CHANNEL – Mar 6 - Psychologist Paul Friday pointed to a recent survey that showed between 30 and 60% of couples experience infidelity during their marriage. Friday said he doesn't believe the media obsession with celebrity indiscretions has increased the likelihood. "You don't cheat because you have societal permission. You cheat because you have drives and you feel you are not being appreciated," said Friday. Noel Biderman founded AshleyMadison.com, an Internet dating site for cheaters with 5.2M members. "I can assure you that number is much higher than 60%," said Biderman.
