Ashley Madison CEO Thinks He Is The Most Important Feminist In The World

Posted on November 27, 2014

Ashleymadison noel biderman nov 14OBSERVER – Nov 25 – “It’s sad that there are places where a woman could be put to death for being unfaithful,” said Noel Biderman. For him, facilitating discreet affairs in the Muslim world is uniquely important. “I’m one of the most important feminists that the world has seen,” he went on. Ashley Madison soft-launched in Turkey two weeks ago. The site has already signed up 15K members, 63% are female, which is a record in any country. 97% are Muslim. “Men in Turkey have no problem having affairs, although women will face shunning or complaints by neighbors,” said Jenny B. White, a Boston University Anthropology professor.

Ashley Madison’s Founder On Why Pregnancy & Cheating Go Hand-in-hand

Posted on November 4, 2014

Ashleymadison noel biderman first bumpFUSION.NET – Nov 4 – In 2001, Noel Biderman founded AshleyMadison.com, a dating site for people who are already in relationships. Biderman’s new book “First Bump” takes a look at the data of infidelity from the site and reveals some interesting findings on pregnancy. “Sex lives are turned upside down. They are turned upside down when their wives become pregnant or a first child is born and so they adjust really poorly to it.” “First Bump” is available now.

Ashley Madison Sues South Korean Government

Posted on August 29, 2014

Ashleymadison logo new apr 2010THE CANADIAN PRESS – Aug 29 - Ashley Madison is suing the government of South Korea after being blocked over allegations of illegal activity. Adultery is illegal in South Korea. Ashley Madison denies the accusations, describing itself as “a social networking website facilitating communication between like-minded adults.” “There’s no adultery that happens on Ashley Madison, it’s just a publication,” the company’s CEO and founder, Noel Biderman, told The Canadian Press.

Irena Brooks: Launching in South Korea where adultery is a punishable crime is another publicity stunt. Are they taking it a little bit too far this time? Every country has its own laws and we should respect them even if we find them absurd. If Ashley Madison is a social network that allows like minded people (he forgot to add "in committed relationship") to communicate, why would he be hurt if his wife uses the site?

Mark Brooks: AM is not a social network in any way shape or form. A social network gives visibility into peoples social networks. AM does quite the opposite in enabling privacy in the extreme. Anyway, the main point of this PR is to get people riled up and conversing. AM achieves its aim again.

AshleyMadison.com Erases All Traces Of Users’ Infidelity For $19

Posted on August 25, 2014

Ashleymadison delete profileARS TECHNICA – Aug 22 - Ashley Madison does let users delete their profiles for free, but if they want “Full Delete” which removes all traces of their usage, it costs $19. Ashley Madison's Hide My Profile Permanently option is the same thing as deleting a profile on most other sites. Users' identifying details will be deleted, but messages and pictures users have sent to others on the site behave like e-mail, and they can't get them back. Removing messages users sent in the past is something few other sites will do.

Ashley Madison Spied On Users

Posted on August 16, 2014

TIME – Aug 16 – In a study to be presented at the 109th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association in San Francisco on Saturday Aug. 16, Eric Anderson, a professor at the University of Winchester in England claims that women who seek extra-marital affairs usually still love their husbands and are cheating instead of divorcing, because they need more passion. “It is very clear that our model of having sex and love with just one other person for life has failed— and it has failed massively,” says Anderson. This information was gathered after the company secretly analyzed more than 4K private conversations that 100 women were having on the site, a practice users agree to by accepting the terms and conditions upon registration.

Ashley Madison Forced To Close Its Office In Ireland

Posted on June 24, 2014

Ashleymadison logo new apr 2010IRISH MIRROR – June 23 – Despite having ~125K users in Ireland, AshleyMadison has been forced to close as Irish are too prudish about infidelity. The site can’t find enough staff to operate its office. CEO Mr Biderman said he came here because the country was technically advanced but he didn’t anticipate it would be impossible to hire staff.

Japan Is AshleyMadison’s Fastest Growing Market

Posted on June 17, 2014

Ashleymadison logo new apr 2010MOTHERBOARD – June 16 – AshleyMadison's profit was $40M last year with revenue of $125M, up from $100M the previous year. AshleyMadison's fasted growing market is Japan. Japan broke 1M members in 8 months. 84% of Japanese women and 61% of Japanese men considered their extramarital liaisons beneficial to their marriages. The divorce rate in Japan is ~27%, about half the rate in the US. The number one reason for seeking out an affair is “not enough sex” in their relationships, according to AM survey.

AshleyMadison Has An Ambitious Plan To Conquer China

Posted on June 2, 2014

Ashley madison logo newTHE ATLANTIC – June 1 – Last year, Ashley Madison, which launched in 2002 and now has 26M members, began its East Asia expansion, entering Japan in June, Hong Kong in Aug, and Taiwan in Nov. With Singapore and South Korea blocking the site, mainland China remains the last market to be conquered in the region. Ashley Madison is blocked in China. According to a 2012 study by Chinese and Western researchers, Chinese women are far more likely to cheat than women elsewhere. Another phenomenon associated with infidelity in China involves women married to partners whose income is modest. Women who are not happy with their marriages are looking for a better deal rather than trying to enjoy themselves. According to Biderman, ~55% of the “travelers” who visit Ashley Madison Hong Kong are from mainland China, having set up their accounts through VPNs.
