Conservative CEO of Grindr Makes Pick for California Governor

Posted on April 20, 2026
Grindr George Arison

NEW YORK POST – George Arison, CEO of Grindr, has endorsed moderate San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, and donated $7K to his campaign. Arison stirred controversy in 2022 when he became CEO, and past tweets resurfaced in which he described himself as conservative. Those comments have since been deleted. It’s unclear if Arison is still conservative. But he doesn’t like how California is being run, suggesting the state should have a smaller government or more services.

Single Women Are Using Hinge to Get Their Furniture Built by Matches

Posted on August 6, 2025
Conversation in a dating app chat where one user expresses interest in finding help to assemble shelves in their new apartment, while the other user responds positively, showing enthusiasm for building things.

NY POST – Some single women are using Hinge to find more than just love – they’re seeking help with furniture assembly. A growing trend, especially on TikTok, shows women inviting matches over to build beds, hang shelves, or mount TVs, turning first dates into low-pressure, DIY-style meetups. Many say it helps create instant chemistry and mimics real-life couple dynamics. The approach often leads to more genuine conversations and has even outperformed flirty one-liners in generating matches. While some experts applaud the creativity, they also warn about safety and potential exploitation if expectations aren’t clear.

Gen Z Is Ditching Dating Apps for Old-fashioned Matchmaking

Posted on May 21, 2024

Tawkify logoNEW YORK POST – Matchmaking services are seeing a surge of Gen Z singles signing up for their events after ditching dating apps. "Matchmaking has never been more popular," said Adam Cohen-Aslatei, director of Tawkify matchmaking service. He said that "business has never been stronger" in their 12 years of matchmaking and the company had the busiest January they'd ever had this year. Three Day Rule, another matchmaking company, said that it's had nearly 50 clients who are 27 or younger in the past year – around five times its usual annual roster of the same demographic. A study from Forbes Health found that 78% of respondents reported feeling fatigued by dating apps, especially those who've likely spent most of their dating life online. Gen Z (79%) and Millennials (80%) had the highest percentage of those reporting feelings of fatigue.

Study: Couples Who Meet Online Are Less Happy in Marriages

Posted on October 4, 2023

Couples Who Meet Online Are Less Happy in MarriagesNEW YORK POST – "Online daters reported lower quality marriages than those who were introduced to their spouse offline," read the September 2023 analysis conducted by researchers at Arizona State University. For the findings, examiners surveyed 923 married adults in the U.S. 18+. Approximately half of the study contributors had met their significant other on a dating site, while the remaining subjects met their spouses through friends, family, at work or in a nightclub. "Participants who met online reported lower satisfaction and stability due, in part, to societal marginalization of their relationships," wrote the authors, "which was associated with reductions in network approval relative to those who met offline."
