How Social Media Impacts A New Relationship

Posted on January 7, 2017

Brides article picBRIDES.COM – Jan 5 – Dating site What's Your Price surveyed ~15k of its users to find out when in their relationships they had friended or followed a significant other. The survey found that 26% connected online before the first date, 42% did it immediately after and 32% waited one month after the date. Those who waited longer reported that their relationship lasted longer. "Social media certainly isn't all bad for new relationships, but it does present some challenges," says Kristen Carney, Ph.D., associate director of clinical training at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. "We can easily see wall posts, pictures, and friend connections going back for years," she points out, "and if you don't yet know your romantic partner that well, it could be easy to misinterpret things you see on social media," like that picture you see of your new love interest with his arm around another woman.

Brandon Wade Can Proceed With Lawsuit Against PayPal

Posted on September 11, 2012

Whatsyourprice logoONLINE MEDIA DAILY – Sep 11 – Brandon Wade has won a round in court against Paypal, which he said wrongly refused to process payments to his sites. PayPal permanently stopped processing payments to WhatsYourPrice.com and other sites last year. PayPal allegedly told Wade that it had banned his sites because they violated the acceptable use policy, which prohibits the sale of "certain sexually oriented materials or services." WhatsYourPrice.com allows people to purchase dates with other users. "Just name a price, and if your offer is right, you'll get a YES and you're off on a first date," the site says Wade claims that WhatsYourPrice and his other dating sites don't allow nudity, obscenity or prostitution ads.

Brandon Wade Is Fighting PayPal For Ditching Him

Posted on August 31, 2012

Brandon-Wade11BUSINESS INSIDER – Aug 31 – Brandon Wade runs an online dating empire including whatsyourprice.com, in which singles "bid" on first dates, and SeekingArrangement.com aimed at "sugar daddies." He recently sued PayPal, claiming it got rid of him because it deemed these businesses too "sexual" and even implied his websites promoted prostitution. Paypal is handling payments for Ashley Madison, a much more lucrative customer. So far, Wade has won a small victory in his case against PayPal. The judge in charge of the case rejected a motion to dismiss the suit before a trial.

Dating Sites With Money-making Twist

Posted on August 22, 2012

Whatsyourprice logoCLICK2HOUSTON – Aug 22 – WhatsYourPrice.com and SeekingArrangement.com let men put their money where their mouse is, all while women get paid for companionship. Brandon Wade is the mastermind behind these websites. "Some go as far as calling me an e-pimp, but I think I'm an e-cupid." said Wade. On What's Your Price, a man offers a "price" for a date and the woman can accept, decline or counter the offer. Seeking Arrangement is the same idea but covers longer periods of time with monthly payments. Seeking Arrangement has 1.6M members. Despite Wade's claims that members are just looking for love on the site, he has admitted that 40% of the men on Seeking Arrangement are already married.
