Aisle Launches Neetho, a Matchmaking App for Telugu Speakers

Neetho logoTHE PLUNGE DAILY – Aisle, India's second most downloaded dating app, has launched its vernacular dating app 'Neetho', for Telugu singles residing in and out of India. Aisle's portfolio of apps currently include high intent dating app Aisle and vernacular apps 'Arike', 'Anbe' and 'Neetho'. Over the last two years, Aisle's revenue has grown by 70%, while the revenue from newly launched vernacular apps is growing 30% month on month.

Aisle’s Portfolio Reaches 6.5M Members

Aisle logo 2020BW DISRUPT – Sep 2 – Over the last two years, Aisle's member base has grown by 100% and in 2020 alone, Aisle's member base grew by 50%. 45% of Aisle's revenue came from Tier 2 & 3 cities in 2020 as compared to 38% in 2019. Aisle is India's second most downloaded dating app. It has announced that the total member base on its portfolio apps has now touched ~6.5M. Aisle's portfolio of apps include high intent dating app Aisle and vernacular apps 'Arike' and 'Anbe' designed exclusively for Malayalam and Tamil speaking audiences respectively.

From Aisle to Anbe: a Vernacular Dating Story

Anbe and ArikeNEW INDIAN EXPRESS – Aug 5 – Aisle, India's second most downloaded dating app, achieved a milestone on March 21, 2021, with the launch of its vernacular dating app Arike, exclusively for Malayalam-speaking users. Following its success, Aisle recently rolled out its second vernacular offering Anbe, catering to Tamil-speaking subscribers residing in and out of India. The app has special features designed specifically for the community, with reference to Tamil pop culture. Able Joseph, founder, Aisle, explains, "We're old-school at heart and hence the name Anbe. The word translates to 'dear' in Tamil. Our core philosophy is to bring a native feel to the whole dating experience so that it would be easier to strike meaningful conversations with like-minded individuals."

Anbe iconTHE HINDU – July 28 – Anbe (meaning dear in Tamil), launched last week by Aisle, focuses on the global Tamil community. It comes four months after Arike, the Malayalam dating app from the same brand. While Aisle overall has 6.5M users, 180K out of them are users of the vernacular apps.

India’s Second Wave Sees 25% Surge in Dating App Users

Aisle logo 2020DESIBLITZ – May 20 – Able Joseph, founder and CEO of the dating app Aisle, said: "In the last month, we've seen 28% user growth and 25% increase in daily active users." Joseph added that since the pandemic began, Aisle has seen more users above the age of 30 upgrading to premium accounts sooner than before. As well as Aisle, Bumble has also seen a rise in users. Bumble's nationwide survey revealed that 38% of single Indians hope to be in a committed relationship in 2021.

Dating Apps Revolutionize Romance in India

India dating picNIKKEI ASIA – May 5 – Dozens of apps — other big names include Woo, TrulyMadly, OkCupid, Happn, Hinge, Tantan, QuackQuack and HiHi — are helping singles to pair up with partners of their choice. According to Statista.com, the online dating segment's turnover in India is expected to reach $783M by 2024 from $454M in 2021, making the country the second-largest national revenue generator for dating apps after the U.S. Currently, dating apps reach 2.2% of India's total population, with projections of 3.6% by 2024, according to industry surveys. Aisle achieved 3M downloads worldwide last year despite competition from Tinder and Bumble. QuackQuack, an Indian dating app launched in 2010, boasts 12M. TrulyMadly, another Indian app, claims 5M users. "Indian society is in a churn," says Delhi-based sociologist Bhavna Kapoor. "Rising education and financial independence among the youth, especially women, are making online dating more popular.
