DAILY MAIL – Aug 22 – Pure app offers sex on-demand by simply asking users their gender and the gender of their preference, whether they can host and then shows them potential partners who answer 'Okay' or 'No Way'. Pure's intentionally soul-less and potentially dangerous approach to hook-ups has no profiles, no chat sessions before-hand and deletes unfulfilled requests after an hour. While Pure is focusing its efforts initially on the gay market, it hopes to eventually open up the bi, straight and polyamorous markets very soon afterwards. They will charge $9.99 for a day pass – allowing users unlimited requests for 24 hours.

'Having an affair is treated almost as a practical, rather than a romantic, decision.' Meanwhile women were more likely to be seeking emotional fulfilment. IllicitEncounters.com boasts ~670K members, which is 3% of the UK's married population.

Match.com will use its computer algorithms to select 'matching' couples – so invitees will match by age and interests. Among the other events which are part of the new offline meetings called The Stir – are tequila tastings, dance lessons and rock climbing.
DAILY MAIL – Mar 20 – Bored housewives are behind a surge that has seen more than one million Brits signing up to extramarital dating websites to have an affair. Figures show up to 400K unique users are logging on each week in the hope of committing adultery. One of the largest websites MaritalAffair.co.uk claims to have ~600K members. AshleyMadison.com said it received a new British member every 45 seconds. ~150K Britons use the site each week. The company said it acquired ~10K new users the day after Valentine's Day, and most of them were married women.

DAILY MAIL – Jan 16 - Sky-high tuition loans are turning more college-aged girls to the internet in hopes of wrangling in a wealthy suitor through an online dating site since it appears to be more profitable than an extra shift at the local coffee shop. SeekingArrangement.com brands itself as ‘the elite sugar daddy dating site for those seeking mutually beneficial relationships’ and was established in June 2006. The site has announced that it is seeing a spike in the number of female college students. New York University students top the list, followed by those at the University of Toronto and Penn State University. Even Harvard and UCLA made the top ten.
DAILY MAIL – Nov 22 - The number of Catholics actively looking for affairs was almost twice that of other religions, a survey has found. A research showed 21.5% of the 600,000 members on an extra-marital dating site were Catholic – a high figure since they make up only 10% of the UK population. Spokesperson for Illicit Encounters Rosie Freeman-Jones says: ‘Religious people have a much stronger sense of right and wrong, which also means they're likely to get a bigger thrill from breaking the rules.
