There are nine emoji options to choose from, including the heart-eye smiley face, the "see no evil" monkey, and a pair of clapping hands. The emoji feature could serve as a low-pressure means to to kicking off a conversation.

Bumble Survey Findings Show a Shift Towards ‘Slow Dating’
TIMES OF INDIA – Oct 21 – Bumble's recent survey shows that 70% of Bumble users in India claim there is a change in their behaviour and attitude towards dating as compared to before the pandemic. 81% claim they are more open to taking their time getting to know someone. 78% of single Indians are talking for a longer period, and having better quality chats, using Voice Calls and Video chat features in the app. People are spending ~20 mins on average on a video chat or voice call on Bumble in India.
Whitney Wolfe Herd Made It to the Forbes’ “Richest Self Made Women” List
FORBES – Oct 20 – In its sixth annual list, Forbes is shining a spotlight on the 100 richest self-made entrepreneurs, executives and entertainers in the U.S. Whitney Wolfe Herd, CEO of Bumble is #39. Founded in 2014, the $162M (2018 revenues) app is seeking a potential IPO for early 2021.
Bumble Introduces Three New Filters in India
HINDUSTAN TIMES – Oct 13 – The three new filters include virtual, socially-distanced and socially-distanced with masks. The company says that the new badges will give the Bumble community the opportunity to skip the potentially awkward conversation about how they are comfortable dating post lockdown, and what kind of dates they would like to go on. Bumble also cited a recent study wherein it found out that 78% of its users would be perfectly happy to meet up in person.
Bumble Hires Two New C-level Executives
TECH CRUNCH – Oct 13 – Bumble is expanding its C-suite with two new hires: Anu Subramanian as Bumble's CFO, who hails from Univision, and Selby Drummond as chief brand officer, who is joining from Snap. Bumble can now claim it has equal male-to-female representation across its C-suite. According to reports, Bumble hit 100M users this summer and is preparing to IPO in 2021, possibly at a $6B-plus valuation.
Bumble Partners With the National Domestic Violence Hotline
PR NEWSWIRE – Oct 1 – Today, Bumble is announcing a multi-year partnership with The National Domestic Violence Hotline in response to the increase in unhealthy and abusive relationships. The Hotline saw a 101% increase in reported digital abuse from 2019 to 2020. Bumble will be supporting the nonprofit's "love is respect" initiative that engages, educates, and empowers young people to prevent and end abusive relationships.

Top Grossing Dating Apps for August 2020
SENSOR TOWER – Sep 29 – The top grossing dating app worldwide for August 2020 was Tinder with~$83.5M in user spending, which represented 7.8% growth from August 2019. ~43 percent of Tinder's revenue was from the US, followed by 6% from the UK and 6% from Germany. Bumble was #2 with ~$22.7M in gross revenue, up16.8% YOY. The next top grossing app was Pairs, followed by Badoo and MeetMe.
