FORBES – Jul 13 – The cofounder of both Tinder and Bumble explains why failure can be "a huge propeller toward success." "I've experienced failure in almost every area of my life," said Wolfe. "If you've failed, you've had opportunity, and that's something to be grateful for … Failure's a marker of success in it's own right because you went out and tried something." At 7 million registered users in less than 2 years since its launch, Bumble empowers women to make the first move.

Bumble Introduces BumbleBizz
TECH CRUNCH – July 7 – Bumble is launching a feature to help users advance their career. BumbleBizz will be swipe-based, and let users create a new professional profile (which will exist separate from their dating profile) that holds information like what industry they work in, what their current job is, their education and more. The company will then use this information combined with geographical data to have an algorithm match users whose professional lives may benefit from being connected.
Why Women Should Make The First Move
BUSINESS INSIDER – June 30 – In a recent interview on the Girlboss Radio podcast, Whitney Wolfe discussed what motivated her to found Bumble, a dating app where only women can initiate the first move. On Match.com only ~18% of emails between straight women and straight men are initiated by women. In the most recent "Singles in America" survey, ~90% of men said they're comfortable with a woman asking them out. According to a recent OkCupid study, women who make the first move can wind up with more attractive partners than women who wait for men to ask them out. That's because women generally message men who are five points more attractive than they are, while they typically receive messages from men who are seven points less attractive.

Dating Apps With Highest % Of Women
BUSINESS INSIDER – Jun 3 – SurveyMonkey Intelligence looked at the numbers to see which dating apps have the highest proportion of women. Christian Mingle scored the top spot, with women-friendly apps like Coffee Meets Bagel and Bumble also scoring high. Tinder and Happn ranked lower, while, unsurprisingly, gay app Grindr fell in last place.
They also looked at what % users engage with an app on a daily basis. The results were, in many cases, completely flipped (Grindr and Happn were on top). Men are much more "engaged."

At that point, men are permitted to message back. Up until now, men had "forever" to do so. Now they're beholden to the same time window as women are.

On Bumble, a man can only message a woman a finite number of times before the app raises a red flag, asking her whether she's being harassed. The dating app has now introduced a new feature: Bumble BFF (best friends forever). This allows users to pinpoint prospective friends in their local area and meet up.
