Psychologist Eli Finkel: Tinder And Bumble Are The Only Dating Services Worth Your Time

Posted on October 2, 2017

Eli finkel linkedinBUSINESS INSIDER – Sep 28 – Psychologist Eli Finkel says the only real advantage to online dating is that it introduces you to tons of potential dates. There's no evidence that matching algorithms work, Finkel says. That's why Finkel thinks apps like Tinder and Bumble are the best option for single people today. Finkel is a psychologist at Northwestern University and a professor at the Kellogg School of Management; he's also the author of "The All-or-Nothing Marriage." Finkel and his colleagues have been studying online dating for years."

Bumble Created A Catfish Food Truck To Promote A Photo-Verification Feature

Posted on September 16, 2017

Bumble-catfishADWEEK – Sep 12 – As a way to poke fun at the absurdities of online dating, Bumble and Austin, Texas-based creative company Preacher parked a branded food truck called "The Great Catch" at three busy intersections in New York last week, offering free catfish dishes that were created by Top Chef talent Sam Talbot. The fun stunt promoted the app's photo verification tool that uses facial recognition to eliminate catfishing. Users can submit a selfie of themselves and then the technology determines if the photo matches the profile photo. It's not the first time that Bumble has created a physical pop-up. This summer, the app created a space called the Hive for people to hang out.

CEO Of Bumble: “Too Many Founders Get A Key Element Of Leadership All Wrong”

Posted on August 24, 2017

Bumble whitney wolfeBUSINESS INSIDER – Aug 23 – When Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe first launched her dating app in 2014, she had a tiny team and a lot of doubters. The experience of working with a small group of passionate people made Wolfe realize how important gratitude is in a leader. Bumble's employees now number ~60, and she says it's important to value interns as highly as C-level executives. However, she says she sees leaders get that wrong. "Sometimes it's just a little bit backwards," she says. "People feel that people should feel lucky to work for them." Instead, Wolfe recommends that leaders measure success based on the positive impact they have on those they work with.
